Maxwell Underground Mine

Maxwell Underground Mine is an underground operation that produces high quality metallurgical coal with at least 75% capable of being used to make steel with the balance suitable for use in new-generation High Efficiency, Low Emissions (HELE) power generators. Construction of the mine began in May 2022 and first coal was produced in March 2023.

Maxwell Infrastructure

The Maxwell Infrastructure incorporates our coal handling and preparation plant (CHPP) and associated stockpiling areas, train load-out facility and rail loop, water management infrastructure, administration buildings and rehabilitation areas.

Maxwell West

Malabar Resources holds exploration licences (EL 9497, EL9484 & EL 7429) the west of the Maxwell Underground Mine, known as Maxwell West.

Maxwell Solar Farm

The Maxwell Solar Farm is approved solar farm located on rehabilitated land within the Maxwell Infrastructure site south of Muswellbrook. The solar farm will have the capability to be expanded to approximately 100 megawatt (MW) so generating more than 200 gigawatt hours, providing enough energy to power greater than 30,000 local homes.

Edderton Solar Farm

The Edderton Solar Farm and Malabar’s overall renewable energy strategy is being reviewed.

Merton Vineyard

Malabar owns the Merton Vineyard located approximately 3.8km north east of Denman and approximately 24km south west of Muswellbrook along the Denman Road. The vineyard comprises of high quality Chardonnay, Shiraz and Verdelho varieties of varying ages.

Malabar Agricultural

Rehabilitation has progressively occurred since 1983 incorporating approximately 850 hectares of former mining areas including planting of more than 350,000 trees. Malabar-owned rehabilitated land has been used for livestock grazing and agricultural purposes.
