In the spirit of giving back during the festive season, Malabar Resources has partnered with the Scone Community Pantry at the Scone Neighbourhood Centre to bring joy and support to local families in need. The initiative, spearheaded by Pantry Manager Lee Watts, aims to provide essential items and gifts for approximately 30 families in the Scone community.

When Lee Watts reached out to the community for food and gift donations, the response was heartwarming, but a particular need for gifts for older children and teenagers was evident. Recognising this gap, Malabar proactively joined the cause, demonstrating a commitment to community welfare through the Malabar Community Sponsorship Program.

As a part of this program, Malabar has generously donated $1,000 to the Scone Community Pantry. This financial contribution will be used to purchase gifts tailored to the interests and needs of older children and teenagers, ensuring that every member of the community can experience the joy of the holiday season.

Lee Watts expressed gratitude for the Malabar support, emphasising the importance of catering to the diverse age groups within the community. With the additional funds, the Scone Community Pantry will be able to create well-rounded hampers, including both nutritious food items and thoughtful gifts for all age brackets.

Malabar hopes that this gesture not only eases the burden for families in need but also spreads the true spirit of Christmas where every child can wake up with a smile on Christmas Day.
