We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in the development of the Maxwell Underground Mine. Last month, we welcomed the arrival of the first longwall shields, marking a major step forward in our project.
These longwall shields have been expertly manufactured by ZMJ, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of high-quality longwall equipment. These state-of-the-art shields are designed to serve as essential roof supports during longwall mining, ensuring both safety and efficiency in operation.
There are a total of 72 bespoke shields being manufactured specifically for the initiation of our longwall operations. The delivery of these initial shields is not just a logistical achievement but a crucial indicator of the progress we are making towards full operational readiness for the Maxwell Underground longwall.
