About the Asset
The Maxwell Solar Farm is a 25 MW solar farm to be located on rehabilitated land within the Maxwell Infrastructure site south of Muswellbrook.
The solar farm will generate 50 jobs for the local area during construction and two jobs during operation.
The solar farm is a great use for a site that has previously been subject to open cut mining and is another example of Malabar’s commitment to the local area, the local economy and, above all, to coexistence with a wide range of industries and activities.
Working at capacity, the solar farm would generate 60 GWH annually, providing enough energy from the sun to power about 10,000 local homes.
In August 2020, the Maxwell Solar Farm was approved by the NSW Government following a rigorous planning assessment process and the comprehensive review of independent expert reports on the environmental, economic, and social impacts of the proposal.
Maxwell Solar maintain a complaints register as a condition of consent. No complaints have been made. If you wish to make a complaint please call our community hotline on 1800 653 960.
The EIS, Assessment Report and Development Consent are available to download from the NSW Government’s Major Projects website.
