Malabar Resources was honoured to sponsor a wonderful NAIDOC celebration hosted by Sandy Hollow Public School in early July. It was a fantastic day with Martindale, Ellerston, and Cassilis public schools joining the festivities.

We were thrilled to have Uncle Richie Lawton from Budbudda Dreaming share his incredible talents with the students. He played the digeridoo, shared stories, and even had some students participate with digeridoos and clapping sticks. One of the highlights was when each student had a go at throwing a boomerang on the school oval—there were lots of smiles and laughter all around!

Each student received a Malabar pack filled with goodies including drink bottles, hats, skipping ropes, bubbles, sunscreen, and more. We wanted to ensure everyone had something special to take home and remember the day by.

A big shoutout to the students from Muswellbrook High School who came along to assist with cultural activities. They led dot painting boomerangs, bracelet weaving, cooking Johnny cakes, and some fun indigenous games.

It was a day filled with learning, laughter, and celebrating the rich culture and history of Indigenous Australians. Thank you to everyone who participated and made this event so memorable!
